'Memento' Star To Appear In New SILVERCHAIR Video
February 10, 2003SILVERCHAIR's new music video will feature a very special guest — acclaimed actor, Guy Pearce.
The star of "Memento", "LA Confidential" and "Priscilla Queen Of The Desert" will join the Newcastle trio in the film clip for their next single — "Across The Night" — when it premieres on Australian television later this month.
According to the group's songwriter, Daniel Johns, the epic "Across The Night" was inspired by dreaming and this is also the theme of the video.
"I particularly wanted people to hear this song because it's one of my favorites," Johns explains. "I wanted to do a really special video for it so it was great to be able to have Guy involved. I've always liked his movies and I think he helped us make something which is visually a lot more memorable than just another music video."
Young directors Sarah-Jane Woulahan and Sean Gilligan, from Brisbane's Squareyed Films, helped create the video. The pair have also worked on previous SILVERCHAIR hits "The Greatest View" and "Without You". Unlike those vivid performance based pieces, this clip was filmed in black and white in the visual style of an old silent movie. It's a very different kind of song and a very different kind of video.
